"The Jaguars took their first step toward upgrading their defense Tuesday, agreeing to a six-year deal with former Buffalo Bills linebacker Paul Posluszny, his agent said.
Posluszny was widely considered to be the Jaguars' top target at linebacker.
"It was hard saying goodbye to Buffalo. They did a tremendous job," said Mike McCartney, Posluszny's agent. "Paul got really excited when he saw himself in the middle of a 4-3 defense. Obviously, he's thrilled right now."
The Jaguars won't be able to sign any free agents officially until 6 p.m. on Friday. After that, the players signed this week can be at the facility and attend meetings immediately, but they won't be able to participate in practices until after the ratification of the collective bargaining agreement. That is expected to happen on Aug. 4, but it could happen earlier. "
