Jae Crowder had some interesting comments that could be perceived as a shade to his former Cavs team following his first game as a member of the Utah Jazz in a 115-96 win over the Portland Trail Blazers.
The Cavs had a great first game with their new players but so did Crowder in his first game, helping the Jazz to their ninth straight game. After the game, he talked about how much fun he was having with the Jazz and how much he enjoys playing in a “system.”
“A great group of guys,” and the system comment were both pretty clear shots at a Cleveland team that was falling apart. Crowder’s system comments also don’t sound too different from Kyrie Irving’s comments after joining with Brad Stevens about ‘craving’ an ‘intellectual coach.’
When Irving was in Cleveland, the Cavs ran an isolation based offense and some wondered how he would fit with the Celtics.
