For the first two-thirds of last night's game against the Rays, it looked like the Red Sox might get no-hit.

But with one swing, Jacoby Ellsbury not only eliminated that possibility, he gave them a lead they wouldn't relinquish.

Ellsbury's two-run homer in the sixth was the first hit the Red Sox recorded off Rays starter Alex Cobb, and he later contributed an RBI single as the Sox cruised to a 5-2 victory that dealt the Rays' fading playoff hopes a serious blow.
