"Plaxico Burress, a free man and wearing the uniform of the rival Philadelphia Eagles?
"It's pretty tough to deal with all those different combinations," said Brandon Jacobs, who has more of an idea where Burress is headed than anyone else.
Jacobs said he also believes he knows where Burress is not headed.
"There is no chance Plaxico Burress is a New York Giant after he comes home," Jacobs said. "None."
Jacobs was and remains Burress' closest friend on the Giants, and he cannot express in words how happy he is that his buddy finally is getting released from prison. On Monday, Burress will walk out of Oneida Correctional Facility in Rome, N.Y., having served 20 months for shooting himself in the right thigh with an illegal handgun on Nov. 29, 2008.
Jacobs speaks to Burress every week and based on those conversations, he said there is no chance Burress will ever again don a New York Giants uniform.
"He ain't coming to the Giants, that's out of the question," Jacobs said last night before Justin Tuck's charity billiards tournament at Slate in Manhattan.
Burress, 33, is planning on resuming his NFL career and Jacobs fears and expects Burress will be wearing Eagles green this season.
How is Jacobs so sure?"
