"DeSean Jackson only does flips on the field.
Jackson, who said Thursday he would play against the Giants Sunday despite a limited practice due to an injured foot, doesn't flop off the field.
The flamboyant Eagles wide receiver didn't flip from his belief since he came into the league three years ago that he should entertain on the field as well as produce despite the recent criticism from quarterback Michael Vick.
Jackson drew a 15-yard celebration penalty against Dallas last week when he finished a spectacular 91-yard catch and run for a touchdown against Dallas with a fabulous flop onto his back into the end zone.
Vick said he didn't like Jackson's flop, but did said he understood why he did it after the highlight-film score that gave the Eagles a sudden 27-20 lead in the fourth quarter.
On Thursday before practice, Jackson shrugged off Vick's critical view like the flailing Cowboys chasing him on his sensational score.
"Everyone is not going to like it, but I could care less who likes it and who doesn't," Jackson said. "I do it because it is entertainment; that is the type business we are in, the fans like it.
"Anyone else, if they want to talk bad about it, it is your opinion, I could care less."
Actually, Jackson said he didn't think he even deserved a flag.
"People dive into the end zone all day, it shouldn't have been a penalty," Jackson said. "I turned around backwards so that is probably why, but I am going to continue to do what I do and to entertain; that is my job and to make plays and to give the crowd and the fans what they want."
When pressed and said it was his quarterback who disagreed with the flop, Jackson said: "That is his own opinion. He is his own man. I am my own man."
Jackson is indeed his own man. He does it his way.
And his way earned him the NFC Offensive Player of the Week for his 210-yard performance on four catches at Dallas.
"It is just a little bit of success, it is not going to change me," Jackson said about the increased recognition this week. "It is what it is. We have another game.""
