"Allen Iverson has taken another leave of absence from the Sixers, and this time it might be permanent.
Iverson missed 15 days earlier this month to tend to the undiagnosed illness of his 4-year-old daughter, Messiah. He returned to the Sixers on Feb. 15 and played three games before leaving again.
The Sixers said Iverson's leave is "indefinite," and it will include at least the remaining three games of their West Coast trip, which begins tonight against the Golden State Warriors.
The last time Iverson left the team, his status was "day to day."
"At this time, we feel that it is in the best interest of the Sixers, Allen and his family that he be allowed to deal with a very serious issue that is far greater than the game of basketball," Sixers president and general manager Ed Stefanski said."
