"About 15 minutes after I'd arrived at Safeco Field on Monday, I made my first error of the season, asking Don Wakamatsu a question about Milton Bradley that he'd already been asked.
I chalk this up to not hearing as well as I used to, not that I wasn't paying close attention to the Mariner manager's press conference in the dugout before the home opener against Oakland.
I was wondering -- and apparently someone else was too -- if Wakamatsu had talked to Bradley about his problems with the fans in Oakland and Texas. In his first game as a Mariner, Bradley was booed by Oakland fans, and he apparently glared at them or said something back to them.
Then in the third game in Oakland, he failed to make a catch at the wall in the ninth inning that resulted in a game-winning hit for Kurt Suzuki. It's debatable whether he should have caught that ball or not -- I'm thinking Eric Byrnes probably would have caught it, and Franklin Gutierrez would have caught it for sure, but Raul Ibanez or another average left fielder would have missed it too.
Bradley tersely told reporters after that game "to make their own assessment" on whether he should have made the play.
On Friday in Texas, Bradley had more problems with hecklers and flipped them off. FSN caught him red-handed on camera."
