The New York Islanders have recalled forward Ryan Strome from Bridgeport of the American Hockey League. Strome could join the team in Arizona on Thursday against the Phoenix Coyotes.

Strome, 20, was named the CCM/AHL Rookie of the Month for November. He leads the AHL in scoring with 33 points (nine goals and 24 assists) in 23 games with the Sound Tigers. He has 17 points (five goals and 12 assists) and a plus-11 rating during his current nine-game scoring streak.

The Islanders selected Strome in the first round (No. 5) of the 2011 NHL Draft. He played four seasons of junior hockey in the Ontario Hockey League, totaling 105 goals and 190 assists for 295 points in 225 regular-season games with the Barrie Colts and Niagara IceDogs.
