"The trade rumors surrounding Matt Moulson for the first half of the Islanders' season can cease after the two parties agreed on a three-year, $9.4 million contract extension yesterday.

The Post confirmed through Moulson's agent, Rand Simon, that the contract does not contain any no-move or no-trade clause.

If Moulson pushed for a no-move clause in the negotiation, it would not have kicked in until July 1, meaning the Isles still would have had most of the offseason to move the winger. Because of that, Moulson and Simon agreed it wasn't worth becoming a point of contention between player and team, who both wanted the other.
