The Detroit Lions have some difficult decisions to make as they need to cut their roster from 75 players to 53 players by 6 p.m. tomorrow. Those decisions were made more difficult with a number of bubble players stepping up in last night’s game against the Buffalo Bills.

But one player that did not step up was running back Mikel Leshoure. I had hoped to see more burst from him now two years removed from the achilles injury he suffered during training camp as a rookie in 2010. The burst just isn’t there and the results have been lackluster. Before last night’s game I was asked who might be a surprise roster cut in a Q&A with the Bills site BuffaLowDown and Leshoure was my answer. Last night’s performance in which Leshoure lost a fumble only makes me wonder more that the Lions would be better served by moving on from Leshoure.
