"Jim Irsay has refuted a report that the Indianapolis Colts decided weeks ago that they will release quarterback Peyton Manning and move on without the four-time NFL Most Valuable Player.
"No he hasn't been released nor was a decision reached weeks ago," the Colts owner announced via his Twitter account early Sunday morning.
Irsay's tweet was a reaction to NFL Network insider Jason La Confora's report.
"According to sources who were involved in the Colts' GM search, the organization was planning to move on from Manning weeks ago, well before this public squabble between the quarterback and his owner," La Canfora said Friday on "NFL Total Access.""
