Szczesny is expected to leave the Gunners this summer having spent the last two seasons on loan at Roma, and is interested in a move to Juventus with Gianluigi Buffon set to retire after the 2018 World Cup.

The 28-year-old has just a year left on his current contract but Arsenal are holding out for a fee in the region of £15million.

Juventus are yet to meet that asking price and Inter are believed to be weighing up whether to capitalise on the slow progress in negotiations by entering the race.

New Inter coach Luciano Spalletti worked with Szczesny at Roma, who finished second in Serie A last season with the Pole playing all 38 League games, and is keen to renew that relationship at the San Siro.

Inter are yet to make a formal offer but Arsenal are willing to sell Szczesny as they shake up their goalkeeping options.
