"Panthers cornerback Darius Butler stood in front of his locker still wearing a pink hospital bracelet - a reminder of what he called the scariest few days of his life.

Butler was back in Charlotte on Wednesday after spending a week in south Florida worrying, praying and getting little sleep after his 3-month-old daughter, Milan, had open heart surgery on Oct. 27.

What started as a routine well-visit to the pediatrician ended up with Milan in the operating room for emergency surgery after her doctor discovered a complication involving her veins."
