"Half of the Marlins Get your Marlins Tickets now!' starting infield is expected back later this week in San Diego.
Before Tuesday's game against the Rockies, manager Jack McKeon said he anticipated sidelined second baseman Omar Infante (fractured finger) to be available Saturday, the first day he's eligible to come off the 15-day disabled list.
Ramirez isn't likely to finish the road trip with the club, even though he can come off the disabled list as soon as Thursday. McKeon said Ramirez was still feeling discomfort in the shoulder he sprained during an Aug. 2 game at Citi Field.
Through Monday, the Marlins since Ramirez suffered the injury were 1-10. In Ramirez's absence, Marlins cleanup hitters entered Tuesday's game batting .176 (6-for-34) with a double, no homers, three RBI, 11 walks, 11 strikeouts and a .597 on-base plus slugging percentage."
