"Daniel Sedin has an Art Ross Trophy. He may earn a Hart Trophy, too, just like his brother.
However, the Vancouver Canucks winger didn't want to think about any of that Friday. He wanted to think about Sunday and what Game 6 in the Western Conference quarterfinal series really means. It means a chance to bury the Chicago Blackhawks and bury criticism that the Sedins can't bring it when it matters most. In that respect, is it then the biggest game of Daniel's career?
"Absolutely," said the winger who has six points (4-2) in five playoff games. "That's the way you have to look at it. We have the team to go a long way and to do that we need to play a lot better. If it happens in Game 6 or if it happens in Game 7, that's fine."
The fact that Daniel even mentioned the possibility of a Game 7 tells you that some seeds of doubt have been planted by the Blackhawks. To a man, the Canucks will tell you this is a different team and all those ghostly past playoff results against Chicago don't matter. Then why does it seem like they do? The Blackhawks have hit stride and the Canucks are trying to find theirs again. They've been passive on the backcheck, tentative on offence. The Blackhawks have been the opposite the past two games.
"They made adjustments and we're going to have to do the same thing," added Daniel. "This is what it's all about. It's about getting momentum back. I didn't expect to win this series 4-0. It's going to be six or seven games and we're fine with that. It's a fine line, panic and realizing you have to play better. And if we don't make the adjustments, we'll be in big trouble.""
