"The reports on Indians outfielder Grady Sizemore, who is rehabbing from a right knee contusion and sports hernia, were positive after his second rehab outing at Double-A Akron.
Sizemore shook off the rust after going hitless in his first game with the Aeros on Wednesday to go 3-for-3 Thursday.
"I just wanted to get the reps; I'm not really worried about results," Sizemore said afterward. "It's just getting out there and seeing how it feels in the field and at the plate. ... Obviously, I'm taking it easy early here. I'll continue to work on that and take it slow and gamble a little more each day."
But Sizemore's offensive production wasn't the only thing about the outing that caught Indians manager Manny Acta's eye.
"Grady had a good busy day yesterday," Acta said. "Not only because he got three hits, but he also had to chase some balls in the outfield and dive back to first base on a throw over. So, I guess a day off [Friday] was well-earned.""
