The Cleveland Indians today recalled RHP Josh Tomlin from his 30-day rehab assignment activated him from the 60-day Disabled List and optioned him to Triple-A Columbus.

The team is hoping to get Tomlin two more starts and build his pitch-count up to around 90 before the minor-league season ends. He will then be reevaluated in consideration for September call-ups.

Manager Terry Francona said last week that if Tomlin is able to re-join the Indians he would not be used in the bullpen due to the stress it would put on his arm. He could be an option as a spot starter if needed.
