Victor Oladipo, Sporting News' college basketball player of the year, announced Thursday that he is leaving Indiana early to enter the NBA Draft. Oladipo has not signed with an agent yet.

Oladipo had a breakout year in which he led the Hoosiers to 29 wins, their first outright Big Ten regular season title in 20 year and a No. 1 seed in the NCAA Tournament. Indiana's season ended with a loss to Syracuse in the Sweet 16.

"To be an Indiana Hoosier means so much to me, and I’ll always be an Indiana Hoosier," Oladipo said. "This is my home."

The junior guard 13.6 points, 6.3 rebounds, 2.2 steals and 2.1 assists per game. He was named Big Ten defensive player of the year.

DraftExpress.com projects Oladipo as the No. 5 pick in the draft.

"He's a great player because he plays both ends at such an incredibly high level," Indiana coach Tom Crean told Sporting News in March. "There's so much talent in there, and he's made these gradual changes. His game really elevated last year in February, especially his ability with ball screens. I think that gave him more confidence because he could get to the rim. The shooting he's just continued to work on.
