The winter meetings have concluded.
A number of big-name free agents have signed contracts.
Openings for shortstops have dwindled.
And yet, Jimmy Rollins remains out there on the free-agent market.
Most observers of the contract drama that has unfolded between Rollins and the Phillies believe it will be resolved with Rollins agreeing to a deal this week.
Phils general manager Ruben Amaro Jr. hopes that is true.
"We're still working on it," he said Monday morning. "We're hoping to have a resolution soon."
Amaro continues to negotiate with Rollins' agent, Dan Lozano.
"We talked over the weekend," he said. "We hope to talk again today."
