"Call him The Big Pirogi.
Label the season "The King and I."
Shaquille O'Neal is now in Cleveland, where he'll combine with superstar forward LeBron "King" James to give the town formerly known as "The Mistake by the Lake" the most high-profile 1-2 punch in the NBA.
Cleveland General Manager Danny Ferry hopes the LeBron-Shaq pairing wins the city its first championship in any sport since 1964.
"Our goals are aligned with what our players want, including LeBron, and that's to win a championship and win it next year," Ferry said of Thursday's trade that sent O'Neal to the Cleveland from Phoenix in exchange for a package that included center Ben Wallace and guard Sasha Pavlovic.
"I was elated about the trade because I get to play with one of the greatest players to play the game in LeBron James," O'Neal said. "The good thing about this team is they already had a good team without me."
O'Neal's enormous presence, combined with James' enormous talent keeps Cleveland among the NBA's title contenders and might make the Cavaliers better than they were last season, when they won 66 games before losing to Orlando in the Eastern Conference finals.
If nothing else, O'Neal's move to Cleveland figures to make the Eastern Conference much tougher. Orlando, the defending East champions, remains a favorite, especially after Thursday's acquisition of Vince Carter."
