Illinois and Connecticut finalized a home-and-home football series for 2019 and 2020, the schools announced Tuesday.

In their first-ever meeting, the Illini will travel to Storrs, Conn., for a Sept. 7, 2019 game. The Huskies will head to Champaign on Sept. 12, 2020.

The Big Ten begins in 2016 a nine-game conference schedule that alternates teams between five home and four road games every other season. In 2019, the Illini will have four road games, allowing the team to host seven home contests.

The games against Connecticut are added to the list of non-conference games the Illini have scheduled recently, including at Seattle next season to face Washington, a 2015 game at North Carolina as part of a home-and-home series continuing in Champaign in 2016, a home-and-home series at South Florida in 2017 and in Champaign on 2018, a home-and-home series against Virginia in 2021 and 2022, and a home-and-home series against Kansas in 2023 and 2024
