"Sixers forward Andre Iguodala was named to the NBA All-Defensive second team.
Iguodala received a total of 15 points, with five votes for the first team (two points each) and five votes for the second team in balloting by the league's head coaches. Coaches were not permitted to vote for their own players.
Iguodala becomes the first Sixers player to earn a spot on an All-Defensive Team since Eric Snow was named to the second team in 2002-03. Guard Jrue Holiday received one vote.
With Iguodala in the lineup, the Sixers were 36-31 and allowed 96.9 points on 44.9 percent shooting from the floor, compared with a 5-10 mark in games he missed, in which the opposition averaged 100.1 points on 46.4 percent shooting.
Orlando center Dwight Howard was the leading vote-getter, with first-team votes from 27 of the league's 30 coaches. The Lakers' Kobe Bryant and Boston's Rajon Rondo were selected as the guards on the first team with Miami's LeBron James and Boston's Kevin Garnett as the forwards. Bryant and Garnett were selected for a record-tying ninth time."
