If Henrik Sedin is injured, it sure isn't his funny bone that's broken

"If Henrik Sedin doesn't have a nagging injury, then clearly he must be tired.

That's the logical conclusion you'd have to draw from his absence from on-ice practice the last two days, which followed two days off after the Canucks won their second round playoff series with Nashville.

Sedin, along with Chris Higgins and Mikael Samuelsson, didn't appear at the Canucks' practice on Friday at UBC, as the team continued to gear up for Sunday's opening game of the Western Conference Final with San Jose.

Higgins and Samuelsson had good reasons to be no-shows. Sedin, well, not so much.

Samuelsson (leg) is still out after being injured in Game 5 against Nashville here six days ago and won't be ready to start the WCF. Higgins blocked a shot on the side of this ankle in the same game, but managed to hobble his way through Game 6 as the Canucks won the series.

But Henrik, who missed practices and morning skates at times in the Nashville series, remains the mystery man. He's repeatedly denied he's injured, but didn't look himself against the Predators. Sedin, who won the NHL scoring title last season and was fourth this season with 94 points, managed just one goal (an empty-netter) and two assists in the six games with Nashville.

He continued to maintain he's fine under more cross-examination by reporters after the team practice on Friday – which was his fourth day off the ice. Even stranger that brother Daniel, his twin in just about everything, did feel well enough to practice.

"Another day off, so game fresh," Henrik quipped."
