Eriksen has been a revelation since signing from Ajax as part of Tottenham's major squad overhaul, and has been in superb form recently despite being employed as a left winger by outgoing boss Tim Sherwood.

The Denmark international scored a last-minute equaliser for Spurs yesterday as they came from 3-0 down at West Brom, and Eriksen admitted that his move to the north London club could just be a stepping stone to a major European outfit.

He said: "I'm incredibly happy that they [Spurs] seem happy with me.

"I am very glad that they like what they see.

"Of course I have a dream and a secret plan in my head. But I keep it to myself. Right now I live in the moment and enjoy the success I have."
