Carolina Hurricanes forward Alexander Semin left the game Friday against the St. Louis Blues after he was hit by defenseman Alex Pietrangelo in the second period.

Semin played a few shifts afterward but did not return for the third period because of what the team called an upper-body injury.

Semin was coming around the Carolina goal with the puck, head down, and got hit by Pietrangelo with Hurricanes captain Eric Staal in on the play as well.
