Ron Francis, Executive Vice President and General Manager of the National Hockey League’s Carolina Hurricanes, today announced that the team has agreed to terms with defenseman Michal Jordan (MIH-kahl yohr-DAHN) on a one-year, two-way contract. The deal will pay Jordan $550,000 on the NHL level, or $200,000 on the American Hockey League (AHL) level, with a guarantee of $225,000.

Jordan, 23, completed his fourth professional season in 2013-14, leading all Charlotte Checkers (AHL) defensemen with 21 assists. The Zlin, Czech Republic, native played in 70 of Charlotte’s 76 games last season, and ranked second among team blueliners with 25 points.
