The Carolina Hurricanes announced Thursday they had signed right wing Aaron Palushaj, defenseman Michal Jordan and goaltender Mike Murphy. All players agreed to one-year, two-way contracts.

Palushaj, 23, spent the 2012-13 season with the Colorado Avalanche, appearing in 25 games and averaging 11:18 of ice time. He scored two goals and added seven assists.

Selected in the second round of 2007 NHL Entry Draft, Palushaj made his NHL debut with the Montreal Canadiens in 2010-11 and has played in 66 NHL games for Montreal and Colorado.

The deal will pay the winger $600,000 at the NHL level or $175,000 at the AHL level with a guarantee of at least $225,000.

“Aaron is still a young player and has some NHL experience under his belt,” Vice President of Hockey Operations Ron Francis said in a news release. “He has good speed and good hands and we believe he can push for a job in Raleigh come September.”

Jordan, 22, made his NHL debut Feb. 14 for the Hurricanes. Carolina drafted him in the fourth round in 2008.
