Huet understands back-to-back starts for Niemi

"For the second time this season, Blackhawks goaltender Cristobal Huet found himself on the bench while Antti Niemi started back-to-back games.

Huet was a spectator Tuesday night as Niemi was in net for the Hawks against the Stars. After losing his last three starts, the veteran understood coach Joel Quenneville's decision to give Niemi more ice time.

"I didn't get the end results the last games I played," said Huet, who yielded a combined eight goals as the Hawks suffered their longest losing skid of the season. "I can only blame myself for not finding a way to win and get the team rolling a little bit."

Niemi was outstanding Saturday night with a 34-save effort in a 2-1 victory over the Blues and it earned him the second start.

"I don't think I really was lucky the last four or five games," Huet said. "It has been some tough bounces and it's sad but it happens to everybody at some point. The rest of my game is pretty good. I felt confident I was there for the team when needed and my head is in the right place (and) my play too. I just have to keep working and bounces are going to go my way eventually.""
