Unlike many Yankees fans who spent the weekend in The Bronx Craig Foskey didn’t come to boo Alex Rodriguez.

In fact the New Jersey native who caught Rodriguez’s home run in yesterday’s 5-4 victory over the Tigers his first since returning to the Yankees a week ago thinks the third baseman is being unfairly targeted by baseball.

“You know what? I’m good with A-Rod” Foskey said. “I have no problems with A-Rod. If he cheated he cheated like everyone else. He should get penalized like everyone else. I think his penalty is too harsh.”

That doesn’t mean Foskey plans on giving Rodriguez a sweetheart deal for the ball assuming the slugger wants it. He’s not exactly going to root for A-Rod to hit a ton of homers from here on out.

“Get suspended for life” he said jokingly. “That would be nice.”
