Justin Bour went on the 10-day disabled list with bothersome lower-leg issues earlier this month, but no further complications emerged and the first baseman will return to his post on Friday night.

The Miami Marlins activated the corner infielder this afternoon in advance of the team’s road tilt against the Atlanta Braves. Bour will reclaim his roster spot, and the Marlins will demote the player who took it 10 days ago. Catcher Tomas Telis will venture back to Triple-A New Orleans.

Bour comes back to a standout batting line (.295/.369/.589). He experienced ankle discomfort earlier this month, bringing to a halt a strong stretch. Bour had two-hit games in four of his five contests prior to going on the DL. He missed multiple games while active due to the malady, but the time off looks to have done well for the 29-year-old.
