"Pittsburgh Steelers WR Hines Ward, who was arrested for DUI last weekend in Georgia, released a brief statement about the incident on his Facebook page.

The MVP of Super Bowl XL and reigning Dancing With the Stars champ, Ward was booked into the DeKalb County jail in the early morning hours on July 9 before being released on $1,000 bond.

"Fans—I appreciate all the love and support," Ward, 35, said in the statement. "Thank you! It means a lot to me. I have a great respect for the legal system and am leaving things in the hands of my attorney."

With labor negotiations moving quickly to resolution, Ward also said he was excited about training camps apparently getting underway soon."
