"Hawks forward Josh Smith started after missing the past two games with a sprained medial collateral ligament in his right knee. Smith played with a heavy brace.
Coach Larry Drew said Smith felt good enough at Saturday's practice to play, but the team wanted to see how his knee responded Sunday morning before making a final decision. Last week's games are the first Smith has missed this season.
Smith moved without apparent problem and played 15 minutes in the first half.
Williams makes peace
Hawks forward Marvin Williams said he spoke with Knicks forward Shawne Williams, whom he fought in the teams' second game at Philips Arena Jan. 28, during the teams' third game in New York Feb. 16."
