"The Blackhawks will be short-handed when they face the Los Angeles Kings on Sunday night at the United Center.

Wingers Patrick Kane, Marian Hossa and Viktor Stalberg will all miss the game with injuries. Kane and Hossa practiced Saturday but Kane couldn't finish it after tweaking his left ankle injury. Hossa was on the ice long after his teammates as he progresses from a lower-body injury that has caused the veteran to miss eight games.

"It's slow but it's progressing so that's the main thing," Hossa said following practice. "It's getting better." Coach Joel Quenneville said he's hopeful Hossa will play before Christmas."
