Marian Hossa who played with a back injury during much of the 2013 Stanley Cup Final will be sidelined for the Chicago Blackhawks' next four exhibition games.

"He aggravated an injury there" coach Joel Quenneville said after the Hawks' morning skate in preparation for their exhibition game against the Pittsburgh Penguins on Thursday night at the United Center. "I wouldn't expect him in the next four games here in the five nights. We'll see how he progresses after that."

Hossa participated in three scrimmages during the Hawks' training camp stint at Notre Dame last week and looked healthy but did not play in a scrimmage Monday night or the team's first exhibition game Tuesday night against the Detroit Red Wings.

"(Hossa) was skating pretty good" Quenneville said. "We liked the way he was playing and moving out there."

Quenneville described the injury as "upper body." Hossa missed Game 3 of the Final against the Boston Bruins with a disk problem in his back and was experiencing numbness in his right foot the final two games.

As far as the current injury Quenneville said: "We're comfortable with when talking the seriousness of it or not. We feel he'll be back and he'll be fine."
