Atlanta Hawks center Miles Plumlee has been ruled out for the next 2-3 weeks due to a right quad strain, the team announced on Wednesday. That timetable would rule him out for the team’s season opener and likely puts his return closer to the month of November.

Plumlee was acquired during the offseason as a member of the deal that saw veteran center Dwight Howard sent to the Charlotte Hornets. Now heading into his sixth NBA season, Plumlee is joining his fifth different franchise.

Last season, he split the year between the Milwaukee Bucks and the Hornets, with all 13 of his starts coming with Milwaukee. In 10.8 minutes per night, he averaged 2.5 points and 2.1 rebounds per game over the course of the season.
