"All week long, Percy Harvin lobbied.
Harvin is the Vikings' most dangerous receiver, and he is also a gifted kick returner. Leslie Frazier wanted to make sure returning kicks wouldn't affect his production on offense.
But, at the start of Sunday's game at San Diego, Harvin prevailed. He was back to return the opening kickoff of the season.
He caught it 3 yards deep in the end zone. A few moments and 103 yards later, he was waltzing into the opposite end zone.
Had the Vikings won, it would have been perhaps the game's key play. Not only did it put them up 7-0, but kicker Nate Kaeding hurt his left knee trying to tackle Harvin and was gone for the day."
