"Matt Harrison has heard all the ways that the Texas Rangers could move him out of the rotation this year after a breakthrough campaign last season.
First, Yu Darvish joined a crowded pool of starters when he signed a six-year contract Jan. 18, and more recently the Rangers have been linked to free agent Roy Oswalt.
They continue to talk to the right-hander, who would give them an extra arm in case the injury bug should hit. The Rangers went through 2011 without having a starter go on the disabled list, but saw an injury to Tommy Hunter late in spring alter their pitching plans.
Harrison, who will make $2.95 million this year, doesn't want to pitch in the bullpen after going 14-9 with a 3.39 ERA in 1852/3 innings in 2011."
