Guard James Harden sat out Monday’s practice with a sore left knee, the result of a collision in Sunday’s game at Sacramento.
He is day-to-day but said he felt much better than he did Sunday.

“I kind of banged knees toward the end of the game,” Harden said. “I’m just icing it and getting treatment, hoping it will be ready for tomorrow. Last night, there was soreness, but I got treatment and iced it. We’ll go with that routine.”

Harden averaged 29.7 points and 8.3 assists last week, making 38 of 63 shots (60.3 percent) and 14 of 24 3s (60.9 percent).

He said it would be tough to miss the rematch with the Golden State Warriors, given the buildup after the Rockets’ 140-109 win last week.

“That’s what this game is about,” Harden said. “It’s about going into a tough place, getting a tough win, or just competing. We’re a young team, but I think we’re ready for it. Simple.
