"Jim Harbaugh has decisions to make after this game. The biggest is at running back, where rookie runner Kendall Hunter provided the team with a spark on their clinching, fourth-quarter drive with runs of 10 yards and the 7-yard touchdown scamper. Harbaugh tried to squelch any hint of a running back controversy by saying that Frank Gore was sidelined with an ankle injury.
Whatever the reason, Hunter looked quicker and looked like he ran with vision, even though he finished with 26 yards and nine carries for a 2.9 yard average, only slightly better than Gore's 42 yards on 17 carries (2.5). I would sincerely doubt that Hunter will replace Gore. First of all, at 5-7 199 pounds, he's limited in pass protection. Nevertheless, he should play more and he probably will.
I'm not sure what the 49ers were doing with Chilo Rachal and Adam Snyder at the end of the game. It seemed as if they were rotating them almost play-by-play. "
