"Marlins shortstop Hanley Ramirez exited Tuesday's game against the Mets with a left shoulder sprain and is day-to-day.
Ramirez in the sixth inning sprinted with his back to the infield in pursuit of an Angel Pagan pop to short left. He dove for the ball, which dropped just out of his reach. Upon landing, Ramirez immediately grimaced and clutched his left shoulder.
Trainer Sean Cunningham and manager Jack McKeon went out to tend to Ramirez. Moments later he was on his feet accompanying them back to the Marlins' dugout.
"Obviously it's going to be sore," Ramirez said. "I just have to ice a couple more times and see how it feels [Wednesday] morning. Definitely, I felt it went out and come back in. It's something I've had in there the last couple of years since I had the surgery, but hopefully nothing bad and I can come back quick.""
