"If you were worried there could be rocky ground for Caleb Hanie and offensive coordinator Mike Martz to cover as the backup quarterback takes over in the thick of a playoff race, the two did their best to put even the most skeptical observers at ease.

What a difference 10 months makes. Last season the Bears turned to Todd Collins in the third quarter of the NFC championship game loss to the Packers. Hanie entered in the fourth quarter, rallying the offense to two touchdowns before he threw an interception in the end zone in the closing minute after reaching the Packers' 29-yard line.

Hanie practiced with the first-team offense Wednesday for the first time in preparation for Sunday's game against the Raiders in Oakland."
