Jets running back Chris Ivory remains sidelined with a hamstring injury but said he expects to play Saturday against the Jaguars.

Ivory has not practiced fully in training camp. He participated in positional drills yesterday but spent time with the trainers when the rest of the team was going through the team portion.

In April the Jets acquired Ivory hoping he would solidify their running game. So far he has been stuck on the sidelines. Ivory said he’ll be ready when the doctors give him the go-ahead.

“It’s always the goal to get back but like I said wWhen I get back I want to be healthy” Ivory said “and also when I get back I want to make sure I am mentally sharp with what I’m doing when I touch the field and get ready to run plays.”

* Running back Joe McKnight who has been dealing with a concussion practiced but had on a red jersey signaling no contact.

McKnight met with reporters after practice but did not have much to say. In the uncomfortable three-minute session McKnight declined to discuss his injury status or his recent arrest for traffic violations.

“I’m not getting into that right now” McKnight said five times.

He was even asked about the dispute between Time Warner Cable and CBS that could black out NFL games in New York City.

McKnight turned to a media relations representative and asked: “This guy asking me about Time Warner and CBS right now? You serious?”
