Hakeem Nicks hasn’t scored a touchdown this season, but he is ready to “take the next step” in talks with the Giants next week as his rookie contract comes to an end.

“We ain’t talking money right now because it’s bigger than that in my eyes,” Nicks said. “It’s not just about money. I’m not going to be a guy who says: ‘Let me go get this.’ Nah … I don’t want to get myself in a situation where there’s a lot going on. This organization is great stability-wise. Not too many changes go on around here.”

Nicks, 25, said that he believes the Giants know he wants to return. Fellow wideout Victor Cruz, who signed a five-year contract worth $43 million last offseason, offered his support for Nicks as well. Cruz said that his advice is for Nicks to “just be patient.”
