"The Cubs reached the 90-loss mark for the sixth time in the last 15 seasons on Monday after a 2-0 loss to the Padres.
Casey Coleman pitched well before tiring in the two-run sixth after tripling in the top of the inning. But the Cubs were held to two hits on the night by Mat Latos and the Padres bullpen.
"It's been a long year and I got a little winded after that," Coleman said.
Coleman finished with a 3-9 record and a 6.40 earned-run average, calling the year a "learning experience.""
