"Looking to put his 39-year-old body through another NHL season, veteran forward Bill Guerin skated with a few members of the Flyers on Wednesday at the Skate Zone in Voorhees.
The unrestricted free agent, who played for Pittsburgh last year, said he was in town visiting family in Medford. Guerin said he asked his agent, Bob Murray, to contact Flyers general manager Paul Holmgren about arranging the informal skate.
Guerin said he wanted to be prepared in case a team makes him an offer. The Flyers had no comment.
"Right now, honestly, it's just about getting back on the ice," Guerin told a member of the Flyers' public relations staff. "I'm just getting myself in skating shape to be ready just in case anything happens somewhere.""
