A stretch of games against teams with losing records has given the Grizzlies a low degree of difficulty in terms of putting together a winning streak.
The schedule also has allowed them to avenge a pair of disappointing home losses from earlier in the season.
Memphis did just that Saturday night with a 96-85 victory over the New Orleans Hornets before a crowd of 17,501 in FedExForum.
New Orleans scored a 91-83 victory Jan. 27 in Memphis. The Griz were woefully inconsistent then. This time, the Hornets ran into a squad that was on a nice roll.
Memphis (42-19) won its fourth straight and 12th in the past 13 games. The Griz haven’t lost at home since Feb. 5 against Phoenix. That’s seven consecutive victories in FedExForum.
