"If Richard Hamilton is dealt to the Nets in the rumored — and massive — Carmelo Anthony trade, it would eliminate one of the roughly 173 wing players on the Pistons.
That's obviously an exaggeration. But to say Ben Gordon's role has been greatly diminished since he left the Bulls isn't.
Gordon entered averaging a career-low 11.8 points in a paltry 27.6 minutes per game.
"I definitely have been a little confused at times," Gordon said. "I guess I have to get used to kind of playing when things aren't as certain. That's an adjustment I have to make. It's a tough one. But if I want to be better and help the team, it's something I have to get used to."
Gordon left the Bulls following his memorable 2009 playoff series against the Celtics to sign a five-year, $59 million deal. The Bulls have been lacking a consistent perimeter threat since.
"It's just funny when I see there were rumors they're looking for someone in that (shooting guard) spot," Gordon said. "I definitely look at it. I guess it's just how it worked out."
Gordon missed six of his first seven shots and finished TK-for-TK for TK points. He said he still loves returning to Chicago, even though he joked he gets booed now. As for the trade rumors, Gordon said they haven't affected the Pistons."
