"Near the end of Sunday's "The Joe Girardi Show" - only on YES - the Yankees manager told co-host Michael Kay: "I'm not a guy who sits around and laughs all the time." His words suggest Girardi is no comedian.
Acting? Now that's a different story.
Saturday night, the Yankees Entertainment & Sports Network voices were discussing A.J. Burnett's obscene snit fit directed at Girardi after the manager exiled him from the mound in the second inning against Minnesota. Kay said the loosely wrapped righty was in deep.
"Well, not even Perry Mason could defend A.J. tonight," Kay said.
Oh really? Even Raymond Burr, who played the famous TV lawyer, would have trouble turning in the remarkable performance Girardi did during his postgame press conference following the Bombers' 9-4 loss to the Twins.
This was "The Real Joe Girardi Show.""
