Since about mid-May, many Giants fans and members of the media have asked the question, "Is Tim Lincecum back?" seemingly every day between his starts and then inning by inning, batter by batter and even pitch by pitch during his time on the mound.

On Wednesday, he gave up five runs, all with two outs, in 4 2/3 innings in the Giants' 6-3 loss to San Diego in China Basin.

Afterward, when asked if the media has overanalyzed his performance, Lincecum said no.

"You guys are doing what you guys have got to do," Lincecum said. "You know, I'm doing the same thing. I go to the chalkboard after every start and try to figure out what's going on, figure if I've got to make something better."
