Giants linebacker Keith Bulluck works to adapt, learn terminology as he shifts outside

"When linebacker Keith Bulluck joined the Giants over the summer, he prepared to play a middle position. In his playbook, he did not read about the outside responsibilities.

That was sufficient for camp in Albany. On Monday, though, he was told he would be taking some snaps on the outside - a role he played for 10 seasons with the Titans.

"It might say a lot about my learning curve," Bulluck said when asked about learning multiple positions in a new system. "Just a matter of getting in our book and studying your material."

Bulluck, billed as the "The Ultimate American Footballer" on his Twitter account, was not locked into one position when he signed as a free agent. Originally thought to be the replacement for former Giant middle linebacker Antonio Pierce, he watched Michael Boley and Clint Sintim start on the outside and Jonathan Goff in the middle. Instead of sliding into Goff's middle slot, Bulluck has bounced back to the outside. Sintim is now behind him.

"If I'm a starter in this defense, that's what I've been working towards with the limited reps I had," Bulluck said."
